About Me

I am a CPA living and working in the beautiful upstate of South Carolina. I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting from Clemson University in 2014 and 2016.

My work experience includes income tax, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, financial coaching, small business bookkeeping, and sales tax.

My “KPT CPA” business journey began in January 2021. I started out with financial coaching for individuals in the evenings. This was really fun for me because it provided an outlet for human interaction outside of my then full-time job as a financial analyst, which consisted of 95% of my working hours behind a computer screen. One of my coaching clients needing bookkeeping for her small business, so this was my intro into the bookkeeping world. Then a friend in the Teacherpreneur world approached me about bookkeeping, and that was my intro to working with Teacherpreneurs. I was intrigued and saw the potential for working with more Teacherpreneurs, so I took a leap of faith and left my job as a financial analyst in May 2021. One client led to another, and while this was not an overnight process, before I knew it, I couldn’t take any more clients. One person can only do so much!

I created The Teacherpreneur’s Sales Tax Roadmap online course in an effort to help more Teacherpreneurs get up-to-speed on their sales tax responsibilities.

I also created a customizable budget spreadsheet for use by individuals and couples.

The latest news in my career: I decided to take a break from full-time entrepreneurship in January 2023. I am now working as a full-time employee for real estate closing company, and it’s been a great fit. I am thankful for everything I learned as a full-time entrepreneur, and I will always have an entrepreneurial spirit!
